Job Description NEW DORM DINING HALL New Dorm Dining Hall, the second-largest dining unit at Bryn Mawr, supports a huge number of student workers every year, and fosters a close sense of community among its workers. Functioning later than its counterpart, Erdman, New Dorm opens for lunch and dinner during weekdays and is notorious for offering amazing brunches at the weekends. Shifts are offered from morning to night (8:30am -9pm), with flexible time slots ranging from two hours to four - but don't worry, during longer shifts, there is an allocated time to eat together with your fellow workers! Students can work both the front-of-house shifts, manning our buffet-style food bars and maintaining the upkeep of the dining hall, or can work back-of-thehouse helping with food prep, acting as Cook's Help, or in the dishroom. Unique to New Dorm, there is a permanent Pizza bar operated by student workers to provide fresh, distinctive pizzas to students throughout the evening. We also have the International bar, which offers interesting food from all over the world and changes food options around every 6 weeks, and the Rooted bar, which offers vegan/ vegetarian food options year-round. Students are expected to work a minimum of one permanent shift per week, and there are often a variety of shifts available on the Trade Board for people to pick up as and when needed. If you are on workstudy, you are entitled to work at least 7.25 hours per week! Staff at New Dorm are hard-working, great at working together as a team, and great at communicating with each other and other students. Whilst experience in the kitchen or working with food would be really useful before working here, we welcome students from all backgrounds and experiences, and work to teach the incoming staff from the beginning all of the skills that they need! The New Dorm staff are like a small family who support each other through the ups and downs of school and work life, and we can't wait to welcome you to our home!
