Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Bryn Mawr College’s Career & Civic Engagement Center is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support the planning and implementation of the Leadership Learning Laboratory (LLL). The LLL is an in-person, simulated workday experience where undergraduate students discover their leadership strengths and develop skills for success in any field. On the day of the LLL, students participate in simulated individual and collaborative activities that are part of a single, integrated business simulation. As an example, one business simulation is built around two separate local coffee shop chains looking to merge to better compete against a national chain. Student exercises in this simulation involve a written case study, a presentation, a 1:1 meeting roleplay, a group decision making process, and an email inbox simulation. The students’ participation in these activities is observed and evaluated by a team of Leadership Coaches comprised of Bryn Mawr College alumnae/i, industry professionals, graduate students, faculty, and staff. The Graduate Assistant helps to plan LLL logistics, train the Leadership Coaches, serve as a Leadership Coach during the LLL as needed, and compile and synthesize each student participant’s feedback into a cohesive report. During the weeks following the LLL, the Graduate Assistant meets with each student individually for a 60-to-90-minute feedback session, during which the student’s performance is reviewed to include a reflection on strengths and growth areas. The student and Graduate Assistant discuss how this awareness can be integrated into their educational and career plans to aid in their growth as leaders. PRIMARY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Partner with the Associate Director of Experiential Education in the planning, coordination, management, and follow-up for one LLL per semester.
