Job Description |
The Research Assistant (RA) will support Dr. Kerry Lee with project management and research tasks related to understanding male partner violence victimization among a sample of racial/ethnic minoritized men. PhD students in the GSSWSR or GSAS with STRONG QUANTITATIVE skills and interest in violence and/or trauma are encouraged to apply.
Some activities will be logistical support, not necessarily leading to publications, though there might also be some opportunities for co-authorship. Activities include analyzing quantitative (using SPSS) and qualitative data (using Dedoose), conducting subject matter literature reviews, and participating in writing research findings for publication.

Job Requirements |
Candidate must be able to demonstrate expertise in academic research and writing and conducting quantitative and qualitative research projects (as evidenced by the ability to discuss aspects or steps in a research process in which they found particular satisfaction). Knowledge of or interest in violence victimization - with a focus on male victimization in heterosexual relationships and mixed methods research is strongly encouraged in a candidate. Candidate must be comfortable with computers and utilizing the latest software analysis packages, as evidenced by the ability to specify which software and/or analysis package(s) they are most comfortable with (i.e., SPSS, Stata and/or qualitative programs - Dedoose). Candidate MUST be detailed in their approach to work, have proficiency in managing multiple tasks at once, be comfortable working in a non-linear environment, and be able to provide examples of approaches to project implementation and deliverables.
Candidate must:
• Have proven competence in conducting literature reviews, accessing and searching databases, and utilizing reference management software and APA format.
• Be a self-starter, interested in the project topic, professionally mature, and should have an interest in and demonstrated ability to complete, in a timely manner, publishable articles about the research topic.
