Job Description Career & Civic Engagement Center Student Voting Ambassador The Career & Civic Engagement Center is committed to supporting all Bryn Mawr students in exercising their right to vote. Through voter registration, voter education programming, and Get Out the Vote programming on Election Day, the Center hopes to remove barriers that might keep BMC students from casting their ballot. Supervised by the Director of Civic Engagement, Career & Civic Engagement Center Student Voting Ambassadors will work as a team to promote voter registration, voter education, and voter engagement across Bryn Mawr’s campus during the lead up to the 2024 General Election on November 5. The Career & Civic Engagement Center is a non-partisan Center, and all Student Voting Ambassadors must also be non-partisan in their work, meaning that they must not advocate for a particular candidate, political party, or issue. The goal of this position is to support BMC undergraduate students in making an informed choice about voting and to provide the support necessary for them to register and vote according to their own values.
Job Requirements Each Student Voting Ambassador will be training in the following areas: • Voter registration options available to undergraduate students • How to register a BMC student to vote in Pennsylvania • Basic Pennsylvania voting rights • Representing the Career & Civic Engagement Center’s voting support programming to students Student Voting Ambassadors will be expected to: • Staff one on-campus Voter Registration tabling event per week (in Dining Halls, the Campus Center, Library, etc) according to their schedule • When appropriate and possible, make announcements about voter registration and voter support available through the Career & Civic Engagement Center in their classes, dorms, or at club meetings • Assist at the Career & Civic Engagement Center’s Voter Support Table on Election Day • If BMC van certified, drive one one-hour shift (or more) of the Election Day Voting Shuttle When working in their role as Student Voting Ambassadors, each student will be expected to use the materials provided by the Career & Civic Engagement Center, including the “Bryn Mawr Votes” logo.
