Job Description The Kosher Kitchen Manager will oversee the College's kosher kitchen, making sure it is a welcoming and inclusive place for all Jewish students and a viable option to support their dietary requirements. The manager will be knowledgeable in kashrut or be motivated to learn more. The Assistant Manager will undergo training for one semester by the Manager and will help oversee the College's kosher kitchen during that time. After a semester of training, the Assistant is expected to serve as manager for one full year. The position requires the student to act as a point person when it comes to dealing with the kitchen. They will be responsible of keeping the kitchen organized and usable to students and to clean it when necessary. The student will be responsible for getting the kitchen kosher for Passover and returning the kitchen to its normal state afterwards.
Job Requirements Roles and Responsibilities • Attend at least one meeting of every Jewish club on campus • Oversee Kosher Kitchen Trainings and ensure students abide by the rules of the kitchen • Keep the kitchen stocked with necessities • Meet regularly with Assistant Dean for Access and Community Development • Meet with students who have questions about Kashrut as needed Terms of Employment • The Kosher Kitchen Manager is expected to uphold College policies and the Honor Code • The Kosher Kitchen Manager will participate in required trainings and regular meetings with the Assistant Dean for Access and Community Development. • The Kosher Kitchen Manager position is considered an appointment for one complete academic year, subject to review and evaluation. • The Kosher Kitchen Manager will be paid at an hourly rate and are expected to work an average of 2-4 hours per week. This estimate is provided as a guideline, and weekly fluctuations are expected to occur throughout the year. Qualifications • Must be a be knowledgeable about kashrut and have undergone Kosher Kitchen Training • Must be committed to learning and personal development on the job. • Must be full-time students having completed at least two full semesters prior to beginning the position (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors only). • Must be in good academic standing with the College.
