Job Description |
Job Description: The Graduate Intern for Continuing Education is a paid position held each year by a student who demonstrates a commitment to Bryn Mawr College and to its future. The intern is responsible for assisting during Tour Guide Training and leading the Continuing Education Program. This work encompasses supporting student employees in giving tours and information sessions, contributing to various admissions events, supporting administrative work, and serving as a role model for the Tour Guide team. The intern must be able to think creatively with attention to detail, organize projects and time well, and communicate clearly. They must have persistence, flexibility, and self-direction.
Previous experience in Admissions is required; more than one year of experience working in admissions. In the summer of 2024, prior to the official end of the spring term, the new intern will go through training with the Senior Assistant Director of Admissions & Coordinator for Visits and Events. This internship is for the 2024-2025 academic year. The time commitment for this role ranges per semester. Involvement varies between 4-12 hours per week. |

Responsibilities:
The Graduate Intern for Continuing Education is a position that requires a great deal of time, self-direction, and creativity. Many college decisions are based upon prospective students’ interactions with current students. The Graduate Intern for Continuing Education must be conscious of this and support Tour Guides by developing engaging and informative training sessions, continuing education sessions, and opportunities to provide feedback. To do so, they must:
• Work with supervisor to develop a training calendar within the semester/ Admissions events program.
• Host bi-weekly meetings with Tour Guide team to provide continuing education, updates on events, etc.
• Work with supervisor and team members to train tour guides on facts, content, BMC information.
• Communicate clearly and frequently with supervisor
• Keep detailed, accurate records of Tour Guide attendance, participation, progress, in collaboration with the Tour Guide Lead Intern.
• Hold Tour Guides accountable for missed meetings, challenges, and other issues that may come up. The Tour Guide Lead intern is the first point of contact for these situations but is always supported by the supervisor and other intern team members.
• Create a structure for team building, fun, and learning, within the work environment
• Advertise and recruit for the Tour Guide team
• Evaluate applications for the Tour Guide Team
• Collaborate with other Admissions interns and staff on various events and projects.
