Job Description |
Undergraduate peer mentor to work with the Quantitative Center. Q mentors will facilitate collaborative study sessions for basic quantitative topics. They will write and test problem sets, introduce new students to the Q Center, and maintain weekly records of consultations with students. Q mentors will participate in training to strengthen critical thinking and teaching skills during mandatory monthly meetings with their supervisor. All work will be conducted in-person at the Q Center. |

Job Requirements |
This position is for a student who has demonstrated academic excellence in quantitative coursework, and who is committed to assisting and empowering students who have a wide variety of academic backgrounds and majors. This position includes ongoing training and supervision. Important qualities: passionate about critical thinking, committed to transforming quantitative education, creative, professional, punctual, conscientious, and reflective. Required: demonstrated excellence in 2 courses in 2 of the following fields: Chemistry, Physics, Comp Sci, Math (Calc I, Calc II, multivariable, linear algebra, discrete); OR 2 courses listed above and 1 course in experimental methods & statistical analysis in Economics, or Psychology, or Sociology. |
