Job Description |
BMC Peer Health and Wellness Educators Co-heads supervise their assigned PHWE Cohort throughout the academic year. They also schedule and facilitate weekly PHWE Cohort meetings, collaborate and implement outreach and programming that empowers BMC students to make well-informed decisions about their well-being. PHWE Co-heads are leaders who positively influence, mentor and support their PHWE Cohorts to promote a healthy campus culture through engagement and educational programming and outreach focused on various health and wellness topics. PHWE Co-heads hired for this position receive training about active listening, time management, conflict resolution, accountability practices, as well as wellbeing and health-related topics, including healthy mental health, harm reduction and substance use/misuse, sexual health, violence prevention, stress management, sleep, boundaries, and more. Anticipated hours are 6 hours weekly. |

Responsibilities
•Promote health and wellness within the BMC community by providing outreach programming to BMC community members on topics of health, wellness, and safety.
•Mentor their assigned PHWE Cohort throughout the academic year.
•Schedule and facilitate weekly PHWE Cohort meetings.
•Collaborate and implement outreach and programming that empowers BMC students to make well-informed decisions about their well-being.
•Inform BMC students of existing resources that promote health and wellness, and direct students to relevant resources and events.
•Develop and facilitate programs and implement outreach efforts regarding a range of topics including stress, sleep, sexual health, physical activity, mental health, substance use, and general wellness to reduce stigma for help-seeking.
•Support communications between the College and students.
•Meet weekly with the Dean of Health and Wellness to talk about health and wellness programming initiatives, their impact, and new initiatives. |
