Job Description BMC Peer Health and Wellness Educators are undergraduate, graduate and post bac students who work to empower BMC students to make well-informed decisions about their well-being. They positively influence a healthy campus culture through engagement and educational programming and outreach focused on various health and wellness topics. Undergraduate, graduate and post bac students hired for this position will receive training in wellbeing and health-related topics, including healthy mental health, harm reduction and substance use/misuse, sexual health, violence prevention, stress management, sleep, boundaries, time management, and more. Anticipated hours are 2-6 hours weekly.
Job Requirements Requirements *Passion and commitment to promote holistic wellbeing in the BMC community. *Commitment to work to improve the health and well-being of the BMC community. *Strong leadership skills with the ability to serve as a proactive, collaborative, and supportive PHWE team member. *Ability to develop educational programming that is equitable, diverse, and inclusive. *Availability for occasional evening and weekend events. *Ability to serve for the full 2022-2023 academic year. Responsibilities •Promote health and wellness within the BMC community by providing outreach programming to BMC community members on topics of health, wellness, and safety. •Inform students of existing resources that promote health and wellness, and direct students to relevant resources and events (ie. zoom events to combat loneliness, stress, etc.). •Develop and facilitate programs and implement outreach efforts regarding a range of topics including stress, sleep, sexual health, physical activity, mental health, substance use, and general wellness to reduce stigma for help-seeking. •Support communications between the College and students. •Meet weekly with the administrator to talk about health and wellness programming initiatives, their impact, and new initiatives.
