Job Description The Graduate Assistant Role is a vital member of the GSSWSR Student & Career Services team, reporting to the Director and working closely with the Program Coordinator. Responsibilities include facilitating the CONNECT program, offering writing consultations, and conducting one-on-one meetings with students. Additionally, the role involves assisting with event planning, designing promotional materials, and organizing community discussions. Acting as a liaison, the Graduate Assistant communicates with various student groups and committees and participates in program evaluation. The available workload totals 30 hours, which can be fulfilled by either one individual or divided between two people as needed. The pay rate is $25/hour. This is a year-round position, with an anticipated start date of June 2024. Please contact Marcy Nyachogo at mnyachogo@brynmawr.edu if interested. Roles and Responsibilities: Student-facing Tasks: • Facilitate 1 cohort of CONNECT program each semester • Co-facilitate Student Orientation and Welcome Events • Provide writing support for MSS students through 1-on-1 writing consultations • Conduct 1-on-1 meetings with students as-needed Events and Programming: • Support with Student & Carer Services event planning and arrangements • Design and distribute flyers and promotional materials for student-facing events • Where possible, attend and/or facilitate programming offered by the Student & Career Services Team • Plan and implement Community Conversations and Dean’s Office Q and A Sessions • Compile and distribute Weekly Student Digest Communication and Evaluation: • Liaison for GSA Executive Council, Student Groups/Orgs, and Student Representatives to Committees • Participate in Weekly Student & Career Services Team Meetings • Support with Program Evaluation through: Distribution of surveys and quarterly reviews of survey trends
Job Requirements • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational ability and interest in working with social work students. • Must be a PhD student at BMC. • Must be available in-person on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. • Some opportunity for remote work and flexible hours.
